I am finally able to further my interest in kayaking and purchased one last year. Your loading info was very helpful as I am still struggling on what kind of rack to purchase for my SUV. Being an "older" female and a solo yakker makes it more of a challenge. I so enjoy reading your blogs and happy to have stumbled onto your blog. I also want to wish you well in this next phase of your health treatments. Our close friend has suffered the same diagnosis almost 2 years ago but after a 2nd relapse, he is now going strong. Hang in there and rest often - you, too, will be back sharing your journeys! When I decided to take the plunge, I went back to Sheels in SF and it was gone.

I have canoed down the Cheyenne from upstream on Rapid Creek, down the Cheyenne to the Missouri River bridge - through Cherry Creek. It was a grand adventure with about five canoes. We did it in two years with three days for each segment. Our trip was around the first part of May, so there was plenty of water in the river.

I appreciate your remarks, and the conditions under which you keep going with he hobby. You are an inspiration.

Cheers,

JayJay Heathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15033786950619309936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28635783.post-69397259062003664872007-12-16T02:24:00.000-08:002007-12-16T02:24:00.000-08:00jay,have you looked into a collapsible boat cart. ...jay,

have you looked into a collapsible boat cart. i received one as a gift last christmas. very handy and not a problem on rough ground. also allows you to park further from water, load boat at vehicle, and roll whole works in one trip to and fro. see them in BWCA more and more, but i'm not ready to break that tradition yet. i don't have hully rollers yet, but have gone to kevlar canoe and shorter kayak in concession to body. i am 56, have paddled w/ parkinsons for near 13 years. still do limited ww, love canoes, moving more and more to sea kayak. live in rapid city. can't drive across the state any more, but have you considered floating the whole cheyenne or little missouri (into ND Badlands)in april?

kelly laneKelly Lanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08811212734157682444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28635783.post-24179100049922698472007-12-01T17:37:00.000-08:002007-12-01T17:37:00.000-08:00Jay -- I am the President of Folbot and just read ...Jay -- I am the President of Folbot and just read your latest posting and watched your video.
